Where - To Park your Car

Parking has always been one of our issues, and thankfully most of you are car-pooling or leaving your ride at your accommodation.

For those coming with cars, here are some important guidelines:

- Please arrive by 3pm. This will give us time to get you parked.

- Please park in our designated wedding parking. (There will be signs and people)
DO NOT PARK on rang Ste-Julie.
The police have informed us that parking on the side of the road is not permitted, and cars will be ticketed.

Drive safe!

What - To Bring

Having trouble with your packing list? Here are the items that you will need. The rest is gravy:

- Bring your chair. This is not a sit-down / chairs with bows type of event.

- Bring your swimsuits to enjoy the river while it's warm out, and warmer clothes to change into after the event. At least as a back-up in case you get chilly once the sun goes down.

- Bring yourselves, your dancing shoes, and your singing voices for karaoke!

Got these with you and you're golden!

When - The Morning After

Wondering what to do for breakfast the next day? Come on over and enjoy breakfast with the newlyweds.

Continental style. Simple (there's a theme here, right? haha)
Muffins, croissants, juice, fruit, and much needed coffee.

Camping? - Crawl on out and join us.

Off-site? - Come on over and join us.

No need to rsvp. There is no fix time. Whoever gets up first, please get the coffee going.

First come, first served. We run out of food? We'll go to the market and get some more.

End time? 12h00pm. Time to start thinking about lunch...

Good morning! :D

How - Taxis!

So as you may remember in our "where to stay" post, we wanted to make sure that no one became a country-road statistic. (I grew up in the country, so I am particularly sensitive to drinking and driving, and even more so when it involves people I care about).

So if you aren't camping with us please note the following numbers of our finest local taxi service providers:

Taxi Joliette: 450-759-3232
Taxi Monaco: 450-753-7575

We look forward to a safe happy tipsy party!

What - The Wedding Gift Conundrum Demystified

Toaster? - check
Blender? - check
Linen in all shapes, sizes, and colours? - check
Crystal wine glasses? - oddly enough...check

Firstly, it is important to mention (and please don't read this as hippy flaky Julie-speak, I'm being honest here) that You are our gifts. We have asked you to be a part of our special day because we love you and are honoured that you are going to make the journey to our little piece of paradise to witness the next step in our journey. So gifts are in no way, shape, or form expected.

Should you, however, insist on making an offering, please note that donations to "Year 2012 - the year of endless expenses" is what would be most appreciated. We will have a whimsical contribution jar available to those of you who insist on gift-giving.

"But what will my gift go towards?"

Any contributions made will go towards our two biggest projects: items required to make our future home complete (Christophe may finally get the washer-dryer he has been patiently waiting for) and our honeymoon (location TBD).

We look forward to being the recipients of your presence, and your can't wait for your contributions towards the creation of an unforgettable day.

What - To wear...

If only Stacy & Clinton were here to advise us. But the rules are few (one) and so we should muddle through  this no problem. J

Our event is semi-formal. The only (one) rule is no jeans during the ceremony. For the rest...it's fair game.

Just remember that it is an outdoor wedding. The floor is grass. There will also be sand and probably mud-like sand substance. So please consider this when choosing your ensemble. If you enjoy our setting to the fullest you Will get dirty.

Preferably you would wear something you already have and love. We want you to be comfortable. We especially don't want you to spend a fortune on a new outfit. But the choice is yours. This is not a rule (there was only (one).

It's a garden party, wedding, cottage party. Wear the bling you feel comfortable in, and bring your comfy clothes for chilling.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: Do NOT forget your bathing suits. The river will be beckoning!

Do what you feel is right for you. We are simply happy to count you among us on our special day. We don't care what your glad rags look like.

I will, of course, be wearing this!
NB: For those interested in wearing heels, I found the neatest gadget: SoleMates. Champion protectors of high heels everywhere.

What - BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair) / AVCJ (Apportez votre chaise de jardin)

"What the what? I have to bring my own chair?"

"Yes."

"Really?"

"Yes." J

In our attempt to keep our event fun and simple, we ask everyone to bring their chair. It will have many uses...

- Find the best seat in the house to watch the ceremony.
- Sit back and enjoy some food and drinks.
- Settle in to roast marshmallows or simply get lost staring
  into the dancing flames
- Rest those weary feet after hours of dancin' and karaoke
  singin'.
- A last drink while star gazing / watching the sun come up.

These are but a few of the many uses your chair will have.

We invite everyone to get creative. You can even decorate your chair. We encourage it!
All we ask is that you remember to bring it along.

What you will NOT see at our wedding. J
